Policies and Guidelines

Supervision of Children

  • Teacher to child ratio will ALWAYS be followed per OCFS rules and regulations. No child will ever be left unattended at any time. Children will be released to the contracted holder at the time of pick up only, unless authorization and identification are both established.

    • Infant Ratio 1:4

    • Toddler Ratio 1:5

    • Preschool Ratio 1:7

    • School Age Ratio 1:10

  • All meals must be provided by the parent each day upon arrival. A snack will only be provided if need be. Portions will always be suitable for each child. There will always be enough for a second helping if need be. Children are encouraged to feed themselves when they reach the appropriate age.

Health Services

  • Each day a Daily Health Check will be given to each child upon arrival in the morning. Signs of illness, injury, abuse or maltreatment will be identified and documented. Kidz Town will  inform a parent or guardian if their child was injured while in our care. Parents will receive a written incident report with detail of how, when, where and what treatment was given to the student at the time of the incident.

Medical Policy

  • Children with a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher may not attend Kidz Town. The child must be 24 hour fever free UNMEDICATED in order to return to our facility. Children that have three or more persistent episodes of diarrhea within a 24 hour period will not be able to attend our facility until it has ended, or the child has returned to a normal pattern. Unknown rash or contagious skin rash such as ringworm, impetigo and head lice will not be permitted into the facility until fully treated. Parents or guardians will need to review, understand and sign the medical policy contracts stating that you are fully aware of our policy.
