Policies and Guidelines


 

Supervision of Children 

 

  • Teacher to child ratio will ALWAYS be followed per OCFS rules and regulations. No child will ever be left unattended at any time. Children will be released to the contracted holder at the time of pick up only, unless authorization and identification are both established.

    • Infant Ratio 1:4

    • Toddler Ratio 1:5

    • Preschool Ratio 1:7

    • School Age Ratio 1:10


 

Nutrition

 

  • All meals must be provided by the parent each day upon arrival. A snack will only be provided if need be. Portions will always be suitable for each child. There will always be enough for a second helping if need be. Children are encouraged to feed themselves when they reach the appropriate age.



 

Health Services

 

  • Each day a Daily Health Check will be given to each child upon arrival in the morning. Signs of illness, injury, abuse or maltreatment will be identified and documented. Kidz Town will  inform a parent or guardian if their child was injured while in our care. Parents will receive a written incident report with detail of how, when, where and what treatment was given to the student at the time of the incident. 




 

Medical Policy

 

  • Children with a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher may not attend Kidz Town. The child must be 24 hour fever free UNMEDICATED in order to return to our facility. Children that have three or more persistent episodes of diarrhea within a 24 hour period will not be able to attend our facility until it has ended, or the child has returned to a normal pattern. Children who have two or more episodes of vomiting within a 24 hour period will not be able to attend Kidz Town until vomiting symptoms have subsided. Children with symptoms of cold such as green/yellow mucus discharge from their eyes or nose and persistent coughing will not be able to attend until they have been properly treated by a medical professional and all symptoms have subsided. Unknown rash or contagious skin rash such as ringworm, impetigo and head lice will not be permitted into the facility until fully treated. Parents or guardians will need to review, understand and sign the medical policy contracts stating that you are fully aware of our policy.

 

Immunizations 

 

  • Kidz Town will be in compliance with section PHL 2146, which requires all students to be adequately immunized against Diphtheria, tetanus, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hep B, Haemophilus Influenza Type B and Pneumococcal.

  • Parents will be notified in writing as physicals and immunizations one month prior. 

 

Program

 

  • A written program plan of activities and daily schedule will always be readily available for all parents and guardians. The schedule is made flexible to meet the specific needs of each child. Plans will include the following… playtime, meals, nap/rest time, learning activities, and outdoor time. The program will promote educational, social, and emotional skills along with fine and gross motor skills. 



 

Transportation 

 

  • Kidz Town does NOT provide transportation. We do however have Wappingers Central School District buses come pick up and drop off students from our center.

Late Pick Up Policy

 

  • If your child is not picked up from Kidz Town by 6:45pm and we cannot reach you or any of your emergency contacts your child will be picked up by the New York State Police.
